My latest TV obsession is Shear Genius...has anyone seen it?! Gold...! I have always thought I'd make a super hairdresser and probably should have done an apprenticeship! Shear Genius is kind of like Project Runway but with hairdressers! Its down to the final three three and I can't decide if I like Brig the yellow haired kooky underdog or Janine the super cute tattooed one who is a bit bitchy...I don't really dig Matthew and he will probably win! Marie Antoinette eat your heart out, its pretty much fit for a princess! Probably not what I would do for my own dream home...I think mine would be more vintage and quirky and less pink and shabby chic! Kristy & I went and saw Antony & the Johnsons at the Perth Concert Hall last night as part of PIAF...what can I say...it was one of the most beautiful concerts I has ever been too. Firstly we had like the worlds BEST seats (centre, 3 rows from the stage!!!) We could see every emotion on Antony's face and it was superb! He is the most amazing creature who is hilarious and sings like an angel! Blew me away! If you are lucky to be going tonight- have fun!

Tonight we are off the the Laneway Festival- yay! I am SO looking forward to seeing Florence & the Machine. It seems since her gig in Melbourne people have been falling completely smitten with her! I can't wait! I am also hanging out to see Mumford & Sons, but I am guessing most of the people who are going have them high on their must-see list! A weekend filled with glorious tunes- its the best!

As you may have noticed I enjoy my share of reality TV (think Rachel Zoe Project, The Hills, The City, Project Runway!) So when I heard that Kelly Cutrone (Whitney & Laurens boss at People's Revolution) I couldn't wait to check it. I love Kelly, she is straight up, swears like a sailor but is also really hilarious!

Her new show is called 'Kell on Earth' and its awesome! I am also now in love with her assistant Andrew M who is a long-haird goth boy who likes to wear sequins. Its a winner by my books! You should check it out!

P.S: When you watch it...OMG I can't believe Robyn is wearing track-pants and a head scarf when she meets designer David Delfin!

I am really excited about this! It's just been announced that Zooey Deschanel (loves!!! she is perfect for this role being musically gifted and married to Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard!) has signed on to star in a new HBO TV show pilot inspired by the book 'I'm with the Band: Confessions of a Groupie' written by Pamela Des Barres who was one of the influences for Penny Lane in Almost Famous!!! This is going to be gold, I'm picturing super great fashion from the 60's, hot musicians and great tunes! Can not wait, I soooo hope it gets picked up by a network! Fingers crossed!

When i was studying Fashion & Textiles at uni was obsessed with circles...my final collection consisted of circular textile prints and pattern shapes based on circles. I'm not really sure why I had a love for everything round but I think Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama shares my love! She calls herself a 'obsessive artist' and she seriously is an amazing lady and artist.

Her point of view actually boggles my mind...I heart her and her super cute coloured hair and I really want one of those pumpkins!

So I have been watching a bunch on fashion related movies over the last couple of days and its been inspiring I must say! I watched the 1996 documentary Catwalk which follows around model Christy Turlington. It was light-hearted and fun to see all the young supermodels and designers! I am in love with designer Isaac Mizrahi- so funny! I liked this doco but didn't love it!

However today I finished watching the documentary Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton which I LOVED! Apparently he never lets anyone ever film him so this was quite interesting and candid. He is also soooo super cute and easy on the eye! He is so young, so New York and so super cool! If you haven't seen this you should!

Next on my list is Pret-a-Porter which I haven't seen for years! If you have a must-see fashion film let me know!!!

Hope your new years was fun...ours definitely was! We partied a little too much and spent the first day of 2010 feeling sorry for ourselves, however it was completely worth it and was a great night with friends! We started a little tradition last year by having a little rhyming motto for the year (last year it was 2009 is going to be fine because 2008 was not so great!) and this year we have come up with:

Last summer in New York this project called TRASH: anycoloryoulike created this vivid art intervention for urban beautification and environmental awareness. So I haven't put up my tree or decorated my house yet! But this weekend I have plans...major festive plans! In previous years I have decorated my standard xmas tree from Myer with the usual suspects- think baubles and tinsel... However this year the thought artificial branches and tinsel is making me cringe...so I have decided to take a more super-cute and modern approach this year!

I'm having my best lady-friends over for a Christmas feast (where I'll be attempting to cook a roast! eeeek Roast+ Renee=fail! However Jamie Oliver has assured me that his recipe is 'fool-proof'!!!) so I want it to be festive and fun! This is my inspiration...I'll take a photo of the final product and post it after the weekend!

I am in love with these wooden trees if anyone knows where I can purchase let me know!!! I would actually have these in my house all year round!

How amazing is this tree?! So pretty! I have no idea where its from but LOVES!

And finally Lady Melbournes xmas tree from 2008! I think this is what I'll probably do as its really sweet and I think I could actually recreate that!

I was parking my car and heading to supermarket for some groceries and I spotted a cute couple making out against the back loading dock of the IGA wall. She was wearing one of our new vintage frocks we got in last week! I love spotting people wearing our clothes it make me feel warm and fuzzy! I also thought to myself if you wear Lala Orange you might get some summer loving!

P.S And yes I want to see that kissing movie Kristy just posted!

Aren't these frikkin' amazing!? I need this in my life! I am quite terrible at keeping plants alive but I think if I was wearing this ring I'd perhaps remember to water it! I am fascinated by the whole sustainability and eco friendly movement which has been happening- hopefully its not a trend and it just becomes part of our daily lives!

I also heard about this bar/cafe called the Greenhouse which is opening up in the CBD shortly and I must say I am amped! It looks mind-blowing! Check it out: www.greenhouseperth.com- everything is made from recycled materials and straw! They had one similar in Melbourne...yay for Perth I can't wai to sip a beverage in their roof top garden!

As Day follows Night

Last Friday evening we gathered our rugs, red wine, cheese and crackers and our lovely friends and headed to The Quarry Amphitheatre in Floreat to be dazzled by the gorgeous Sarah Blasko. Blown away is all I can say! The venue is simply amazing!!! I was surprised this was the first time I had been there and I've lived in Perth for 26 years and now I think its one of the best Perth music venues we got!

It might have also had something to do with how brilliant Sarah Blasko is live! This was seriously the best venue for her too! She is one crazy-lady with her kooky dance moves and interactive costumes. See that dress up there she undid the shoulders and out popped these insane rainbow structures. We just heart her!

We finished off the night by retiring to the bar on the upper lawn for some cider and wine which looked over the city skyline...oh we heart you too, Perth!

Hilarious! Kristy scored us free tickets to Britney Spears last night so we donned on some lippy and joined the other 18000 fans excited about singing along to some gold! So disappointed it was more sad than bad....no large TV screens, seriously lame sound (yes she mimed!) and Brit looked pretty rough-due to hooker dancing and bad hair-do (exactly like you see when you read the trashmags... high messy ponytail). Our suggestion was perhaps it needed some more razzle-dazzle to distract everyone from the fact Britney aint what she used to be....

Anyways we finished the night with cocktails at the 'Spice Lounge' which was the super cheese we were after and the highlight was the awesome piano dude who sang Phil Collins...funnily he more entertaining than Brit! Good times!
